FEATURED PRODUCT

TEXTROFLASH™ GREENTEXTROFLASH

DESCRIPTION
Textroflash™ Green is an air and vapor barrier that is a 40 mil thick composite membrane consisting of a hot melt adhesive laminated to a tough spun-bonded polypropylene film with 45% recycled content. A silicone release liner prevents the material from sticking together in the roll and is easily removed for installation. Textroflash™ Green rolls are 50-foot long and are available in widths of 12”, 16”, 18”, 24”, 36”, 48”, 54”, 60” and 72”.

TYPICAL USE
Textroflash™ Green is a complete air and vapor barrier system when adhered to above-grade substrates. Textroflash™ Green has self-adhering properties.  Apply horizontally or vertically over the entire surface area following the installation instructions below.  The non-asphaltic clear adhesive backing bonds to masonry, gypsum sheathing, concrete, steel and wood substrates.

MATERIAL CONFORMANCE
Textroflash™ Green Air & Vapor Barrier conforms to the following specifications:

  • GSA; PBS PCD 07121
  • USN; NAVFAC TS-07111
  • Federal Construction Guide Spec; FCGS-07111

ADVANTAGES

  • Possible LEED credits toward certification in categories of Energy & Atmosphere (EA), Materials & Resources                   (MR) and Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ)
  • Tough, spun-bonded film aid in preventing tears or post-installation damage
  • Self-adhering
  • Self-seals around fastener and veneer anchor penetrations
  • Easy to install, inspect and repair

INSTALLATION
Surface Preparation:Allow at least 7-day cure time for concrete.  Surface must be smooth and dry, free of oils, dirt, loose rust scales or any other materials which might cause poor adhesion.  Fill voids greater than 1/4" across with approved sealant or fill material.

Adhesion Promotion:Surface prep as above to receive Textroflash™ Green Vapor/Air Barrier System.  Some substrates may require prep with Textroflash™ Green primer or Flex-Flash® adhesive spray. For spray adhesive, shake can before using.  Hold can 6-8 inches from substrates and spray with a uniform pattern.  Let adhesive develop tack with a few seconds of open time and then adhere Textroflash™ Green with firm compression.  When finished with an application, always turn can upside down and spray for two seconds to clear valve and prevent clogging.  If adhesive accumulates around nozzle, wipe clear while wet.  If dried in valve opening, remove with degreasing solvent.

Application:Apply Textroflash™ Green Air & Vapor Barrier in lengths of 8' or less.  Side laps and overlaps shall be a minimum of 3”. Begin installation at base of wall and work upwards.  On large vertical surfaces, apply in 8' sections, starting at the lowest point with the higher section overlapping the lower section. Use a roller to firmly press membrane onto surface without air pockets.  Sealant should then be applied on top of all laps at 1/8”-1/4” thickness x 1”-1 ½” with a continuous bead of Textroflash™ Green Mastic.

LIMITATIONS

  • Some substrates may require prep with Textroflash™ Green primer or Flex-Flash® adhesive spray.
  • Do not apply Flex-Flash® adhesive spray or Textroflash™ Green to damp, frosty, or contaminated surfaces
  • Cover within 90 days of installation.  (Not intended for longer exposure to weather and UV.)
  • Ambient temperature where installed shall not exceed 150°F
  • For best installation install at temperatures above 32°F.
